Meet Br. Johnathon
The Midwest District interviewed Br. Johnathon Emanuelson, our newest Christian Brother who professed his final vows in July 2023. Recently, Br. Johnathon served at John XXIII Educational Center in Racine, WI and will be moving to the Twin Cities. He reflected on his vocation as a Brother.
If Br. Johnathon’s name sounds familiar, count yourself among the blessed individuals to receive an uplifting thank you call from him. He regularly volunteered in the Midwest District Provincial Office calling donors to thank them for their support.
What inspired you to be a Brother?
I wanted to help others learn and grow. To be able to share my faith with others and to walk with and accompany young people was inspiring to me.
If you had one wish for the next generation to experience, what would it be?
Take care of the earth!
Treat others with compassion!
Read, study, and learn.
If you had one gift to give students today, what would it be?
Listening.
Letting students be themselves and spending time getting to know them.
What does the KabarA Challenge mean to you?
The KabarA Challenge provides help to the Brothers that I cannot provide myself. It helps provide a relaxing and healthy retirement for the men who have allowed our Institute to thrive and prosper, and to grow into what it is today.
Tell me about life after retirement.
I hope I live to see it!
